Strengthening Individuals, Couples, Families and Businesses
Inner Resources for Outer Excellence Decade after Decade

Keynotes, Seminars and Workshops

(Custom tailored presentations and on-going training and consultation available)

As a speaker and trainer I am noted for my ability to inspire and entertain while also educating. For nearly 20 years I have been a professional member of the National Speakers Association. My graduate degrees are from the University of Michigan and Columbia University.

My teaching and research experiences include being on the faculty of Columbia University, the University of Washington, Fordham and New York Universities. I am an advanced certificate holder of the Family Firm Institute, and a founding member of the Northwest Family Business Advisors. Both focus on multi-disciplinary support and advising to individual and family enterprises. My writing includes the authoring of dozens of articles and several books.

I am a highly trained and experienced coach, mediator, educator and, more recently, a ballroom dance instructor. I find people, communications and relationships fascinating and love to help enhance and strengthen all three. I draw upon all the above and combine with creativity and humor to present educating, motivating, and fun presentations.

Personally I love the outdoors. I'm a skier, hiker, climber, camper. Love ballroom dancing and teach groups and individuals to ballroom dance - including the waltz, tango, swing and tap dancing. I am a veteran having served in the medical corps, a former marathon runner, and a cancer survivor for over 10 years having survived several close calls with death. I live with my wife and our two dogs in the Pacific Northwest.

TESTIMONIALS

Your eloquent and moving story of the difference our varied services made in the life of one older man and his family not only educated people about some of the more subtle things we do but also helped them open their wallets and checkbooks more generously for our organization and cause.
Your presentation on Boomers here in Sarasota County was just the information we needed to lay the foundation for ongoing public-private discussions in our area.
Attendee
John: On behalf of the National Shipbuilding Research Program, the Conference participants and we, the Planning Committee, thank you for your effective presentation at the Conference. You provided many challenging ideas for all to take back to their organizations for further reflection. The Conference evaluations were positive and appreciative. You were our highest rated speaker.... Your willingness to participate contributed to a highly successful Conference. Our sponsors, as well as the participants, are pleased with the outcome. We remain enormously grateful for your agreeing to stay for a second presentation.

On behalf of the caregivers of Washington state, the Sponsoring agencies, and the Challenges in Caregiving Planning Committee, we want to thank you for your participation in the 2007 Challenges in Caregivning Conference.
Caregivers can't say enough good things about your workshops. Frequently, they cite the "Feeling" workshop as the most valuable part of the day. Consistently, they rank it 5 out of 5. Your compassion and ability to talk about difficult subjects puts caregivers at ease, and helps them realize they aren't alone.
The new caresharing workshop was also very well received.
Lynne Korte, Bev Ricker - Washington State Department of Social and Health Services
